Has anybody played the big box “Carccassonne” board game with the dragon?
Well, it is fun; but, not so much when trying to beat the wife (that is a sentence that could be twisted in an expository way). I noticed this week life can become focused on moving the dragon toward each other. We find our flesh wanting to be the flesh(winning, selfish, manipulative, first) ; and frankly not eschewing the dragon like we should.
So I want to encourage you, as the Holy Spirit broke mine this week thinking typological about how this game can relate to my life or yours. This game piece is the one you want but do not want your opponents to get because it moves the dragon (the destroyer). It gives you or them the chance to destroy the other. It is a game; but I see this happening at businesses and at home like where it becomes competitive for each employee to get ahead of the other instead of acting as a team to eschew it out of the work place or home all together. We must recognize there is a spiritual real game being played with us and with a real dragon. It is hard to see that board game most of the day due to our flesh being trained to ignore it and “compete” with each other.
Make no mistake, the dragon is real! He does not care who he destroys in the game or in real life! There is a little game piece called the “fairy” which protects your game piece. It is so ironic there is the Holy Spirit that does the same. However, in the game if you choose to place the “protector” he will not move unless someone else chooses to take it from you. In reality, the Holy Spirit is a single spirit ( the third person and whole characteristic of Jesus) who is omnipresent and can protect as many as needed at any one time. The Holy Spirit does not get stolen from another, but we can easily eschew him away as well when we allow our flesh and the world to distract us from serving God.
