If you want to understand more about discerning scripture here is a very important step with an example of how to recognize many things said must have the entire bible searched for every application which may give you a deductive different meaning.
Think about what would go through your mind if I or somebody you knew, but do not like, busted up in your office and DEMANDED TO SPEAK TO YOU “WITHOUT” an appointment? Or imagine a street thug on crack banging on the door of a large executive office demanding to see the president of Fed Ex, or some government office like the IRS!
Now put yourself in that guy’s place and do the same to God!
Do you have that authority? Before you answer you must examine the entire Bible!
The question has a different application if:
- You are lost
- You are saved.
- You are approaching God the Father (O.T.)
- Jesus, the same God but in the flesh
- Jesus, the same God AFTER his sacrifice
- The Holy Spirit
- Hint: now if you think there is no difference then you have not read the bible! Because the one Trinity DEMANDED the High Priests all kinds of garments and things to approach him!
So, IT IS MOST DEFINITELY IMPORTANT and each has a different answer!
IT IS SO IMPORTANT that several theologies revolve around inductive thought instead of sound deductive thinking like the Bereans thought.
Church of Christ do not believe in the doctrine of the Trinity. The reasons are several, but it comes down to rejection or misunderstanding scripture because of expository inductive reasoning instead of Berean whole bible deductive reasoning.
Another is the Jewish faith. They reject Jesus as God; but even pieces of their thought process overflows into other religions like Baptist, Methodist, Catholic and others. For example, the Jews asked Jesus who he was and of course he said, “I AM”. But, the Jews replied is he not the son of Mary? That statement is so true; but, others take the exact same logic and claim Jesus was a man, a prophet, and belittle him right down to an equal of basically any man that has ever lived. Keeneth Copeland said, any man can become like Jesus if he were to eschew evil ” like Jesus”! So stupid! But the exact ideology bleeds into so many more religions and there is a horrible job at seminary schools and churches showing the lie because it is “sorta true”!
Work through this thinking process with other situations and “sorta true” beliefs and I will show you a collosal lie that has shaped almost every protestant faith very soon.
